The Council of Media Ethics of Macedonia (CMEM) has published the “Handbook on Editorial Guidelines and Best Practices for Fact-Checking and Security Information”.
The handbook was created to support journalists, editors, and all media professionals with practical tools and guidance in the fight against disinformation.
The publication contains the world’s best practices and concrete examples of how to avoid the pitfalls of disinformation, as well as security recommendations for the protection of data and information. The handbook will be especially useful for journalists reporting on sensitive security-related topics and will help them create accurate, balanced, and ethical content.
The authors of the handbook are Zoran Bojarovski, a journalist with many years of experience, and Mile Boshnjakovski, a strategic communications consultant. The publication is supported by the U.S. Embassy in Skopje, as part of the project “Strengthening Media Resilience Against Disinformation in North Macedonia”, implemented by the Council of Media Ethics of Macedonia.
