Press release 11.11.2015

Members of Press Complaints Commission and the Executive Office of CMEM, who will be attending the presentation, will promote the principle of self-regulation, the up-to-date experiences of the Council of Ethics and the cooperation with similar bodies in the international arena.

The event will also be used to present notable cases that have been processed up-to-date by the Press Complaints Commission of CMEM, as well as the effect of mediation, which is one of the main tools applied by the Council in dealing with submissions for unprofessional and unethical journalism.

CMEM is a civic association established by several media a year ago, and functionally began its operation in January this year. The main objective of CMEM is greater degree of respect for ethical standards in journalism, as well as easier access of the public (citizens, institutions and legal entities) to the media when any breach of standards of professional and objective reporting is observed.
