Members of Press Complaints Commission and the Executive Office of CMEM, who will be attending the presentation, will promote the principle of self-regulation, the up-to-date experiences of the Council of Ethics and the cooperation with similar bodies in the international arena.

The event will also be used to present notable cases that have been processed up-to-date by the Press Complaints Commission of CMEM, as well as the effect of mediation, which is one of the main tools applied by the Council in dealing with submissions for unprofessional and unethical journalism.

CMEM is a civic association established by several media a year ago, and functionally began its operation about 6 months ago. The main objective of CMEM is greater degree of respect for ethical standards in journalism, as well as easier access of the public (citizens, institutions and legal entities) to the media managers, when rights are partially violated and unprofessional reporting is observed. The key moto of CMEM is – The more self-regulation, the less (state) regulation.

The event will take place at „Rim Pariz“restaurant in Kumanovo, starting at 11:00h, and will be open to the public.
