What happened yesterday was further evidence that the situation is disturbing and reveals inclinations to obstruct the work of journalists in reporting on issues of public interest. It is totally unacceptable for CMEM to prevent in any way the professional work of journalists, which should be free of any pressure and threats.
Violence against journalists and media workers is a serious problem, which requires systematic and coordinated response by the competent institutions. We call on to them to take appropriate measures to fully disclose and resolve this incident. Resolving cases of this kind will discourage the recurrence of such acts of violence and pressure on the media.
