Loraine, who was involved in this work with an assistance from the OSCE Mission in Macedonia, stated that the media situation in the region and wider is far from being optimistic, therefore every effort to introduce self-regulation is a step forward.
There will be a need of a full support by the journalists and editors in Macedonia, Loraine emphasized, who has an experience working for such organizations in several states.
According to the OSCE representative for media freedom Dunja Mijatovic, the successful implementation of the Strategy and the Action plan will depend on the full support by all media outlets in the country. I believe that the Council of Media Ethics will get an unselfish support by the entire media community, Mijatovic said.
The OSCE Ambassador Ralf Breth also stated the support for the process. The OSCE Mission supports this process since the beginning and we believe that the activities of the CMEM will contribute to the raising of the international standards on a long term basis, he said.
