Sefer Tahiri

Sefer Tahiri, Ph.D, graduated Journalism at the University St. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. He earned his MA degree at the Institute for Sociological and Political Research in Skopje, working on the “Influence of the Political Parties over the Editorial Policy of the Commercial TV stations”. Tahiri earned his Ph.D degree at the New York University – Skopje, with the thesis on the “Influence of the Political Parties over the Editorial Policy of the Public Broadcaster-MRT (1998 – 2006).” Since 2008 he teaches journalism and communications at the Department of Languages, Cultures and Communications at the South East Europe University in Tetovo. Since 2011 he has been working in the Sector on Intercultural Communication at the Institute of Spiritual and Cultural Heritage of the Albanians – Skopje. Tahiri has over 15 years of experience as a journalist and editor (“Fakti”, Macedonian Television- programme in Albanian language, TV Alsat – M). He was also a correspondent for Radio Free Europe in Albanian. He took part in a variety of research projects implemented by the Macedonian Institute for Media and the School of Journalism and Public Relations.
