Members of the Commission

Mirche Adamchevski has been the president of the Complaints Commission since several years ago. He graduated at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy – Chemical Engineering. He worked as a journalist, editor, correspondent of the daily “Nova Makedonija” in Moscow (in a period of six years, 1993-1999), as well as an Editor in Chief in the period 2002 – 2004. He was a President of the Broadcasting Council of Macedonia from 2006 to 2008. Adamcevski worked also for the magazine “Porta 3” from 2008 to 2013.

Snežana Trpevska, Ph.D has had research interests in several fields: social research methodology, sociology of mass communications, critical thinking and media literacy, media policy and regulation, and journalism studies. She worked at the Broadcasting Council, until 2009, as a Head of the Research and Strategic Development Department. Since 2008 she has been engaged as a professor at the College of Journalism and Public Relations, and since 2013 at the Institute for Communication Studies in Skopje. She participated a number of academic research projects related to freedom of expression and media pluralism, media literacy, attitudes and behavior of audiences towards media content, media concentration and regulation of broadcasting, ethics in journalism, etc.

Tamara Chausidis is a journalist with an extensive experience in several media outlets (BIRN, TV Alsat, Radio Free Europe, Macedonian Radio), but she has been also active in the field of media self-regulation and ethical journalism. In 2007 she was elected as a President of the Council of Honour of the Association of Journalists of Macedonia, which later resulted with co-authoring of the Handbook of Ethics in Journalism, where she is the author of the chapters: Self-Regulation, What is the AJM’s Council of Honor, Code of Conduct and Recommendations, Most Common Misconduct (How to Avoid Mistakes), Hate speech, how to report on differences etc. Chausidis has been an advocate for better journalists’ rights and working conditions. She was among the founders of the first independent union of journalists, after which she was elected as a president of the SSNM and led the organization for two terms, until 2018.

Zhana Popovska Bozinovska is a journalist with an extensive experience in several media. She graduated from the Faculty of Economics in Skopje, but spent her entire working career in journalism. From 1991 to 2000, he worked in NIP "Nova Makedonija", and then from 2000 to 2016 writing for the daily newspaper "Dnevnik". In both newspapers, he works as a journalist in the Foreign Policy column, with special emphasis on the issue of the name and the Euro-Atlantic integration of Macedonia. From 2016 to 2022, he worked in the MKD.mk portal, and from 2022 in "Sloboden Pechat", where he is the responsible editor of the media service.

Sefer Tahiri, Ph.D, graduated Journalism at the University St. Cyril and Methodius in Skopje. He earned his MA degree at the Institute for Sociological and Political Research in Skopje, working on the “Influence of the Political Parties over the Editorial Policy of the Commercial TV stations”. Tahiri earned his Ph.D degree at the New York University – Skopje, with the thesis on the “Influence of the Political Parties over the Editorial Policy of the Public Broadcaster-MRT (1998 – 2006).” Since 2008 he teaches journalism and communications at the Department of Languages, Cultures and Communications at the South East Europe University in Tetovo. Since 2011 he has been working in the Sector on Intercultural Communication at the Institute of Spiritual and Cultural Heritage of the Albanians – Skopje. Tahiri has over 15 years of experience as a journalist and editor (“Fakti”, Macedonian Television- programme in Albanian language, TV Alsat – M). He was also a correspondent for Radio Free Europe in Albanian. He took part in a variety of research projects implemented by the Macedonian Institute for Media and the School of Journalism and Public Relations.

Zerieta Hajro Jajaga has been present on the media scene in Macedonia for over 25 years, as a journalist and editor at Macedonian Television. She began her career at MRTV in 1995, where she shaped her practice as a reporter and editor of multiple topics and interviews with notable figures on social and political life. She is part of the team of Radio Free Europe, where she has published hundreds of texts and analyses of the political and social developments in the country, which have marked the recent history of Macedonia. Zerijeta Jajaga is also an activist for gender equality and against discrimination. His commitment to advancing the media environment is reflected in the projects and research he has participated in to improve media practices and standards: Media Sustainability Index, Hate Speech Cases.

Dimitar Micev holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and a Master’s degree in Strategic Communications Management. From 2003 to 2023 he was the manager and owner of the regional television VIS, and since 2023 he is the founder and editor-in-chief of the portal Nota.mk which brings information, research and analysis. Micev is one of the founders and president of the association of local and regional electronic media “Medium Objektiv”, as well as the founder of the “Institute for the Development of Media Pluralism”. His research focuses on the implementation of new journalistic tools as well as adherence to ethical standards in journalism, in an era of technological revolution and artificial intelligence.
