Competition for best journalistic stories for diversity inclusive reporting during Covid-19

The call for applications is open to all professional journalists and newsrooms in the country for stories published in the period from 1 May 2020 to 1 May 2021.

Criteria for the awards will include authenticity, analysis, the extent to which a submission serves the broader public interest, and compliance with the highest ethical standards in journalism. Submissions may be of any journalistic form or genre (text, article, documentary, report, interview).   

The best stories will be selected by a jury consisting of renowned representatives of the profession. Authors of the best stories will receive the following prizes:

  • First place – IT equipment worth 800 EUR
  • Second place – IT equipment worth 600 EUR
  • Third place – IT equipment worth 400 EUR

Individual journalists and newsrooms may each submit up to three (3) pieces.

The competition is open until 16.05.2021.

Submissions must include a link to the original journalistic content and also enclose it as an attachment to the email (pdf document).

Prizes for the best stories related to reporting on vulnerable and marginalized groups during the coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) are awarded by the CMEM and the OSCE Mission to Skopje to encourage journalists to promote the concept of equality and integration of vulnerable and marginalized groups of citizens through professional and ethical reporting on topics of public interest.
