Tamara Chausidis is a journalist with an extensive experience in several media outlets (BIRN, TV Alsat, Radio Free Europe, Macedonian Radio), but she has been also active in the field of media self-regulation and ethical journalism. In 2007 she was elected as a President of the Council of Honour of the Association of Journalists of Macedonia, which later resulted with co-authoring of the Handbook of Ethics in Journalism, where she is the author of several chapters. Chausidis has been an advocate for better journalists’ rights and working conditions. She was among the founders of the first independent union of journalists, after which she was elected as a president of the SSNM and led the organization for two terms, until 2018.
