At a press conference held on March 10, at the EU InfoCentre in Skopje, the Council of Media Ethics of Macedonia (CMEM) reminded the media of the great role and responsibilities for professional reporting and contribution to improving the situation in the media.

On 25 February, the Council of Media Ethics of Macedonia (CMEM), organised a thematic debate on “The Media, Elections and the role of Self-Regulation“, which took place at Hotel Crystal Palace, in Prilep.

Tomorrow (February 12) at 12:00h, the Council of Media Ethics of Macedonia – CMEM will organize an event at the EU InfoCentre in Skopje for signing of the Charter for ethical reporting on elections.

Many media signed the Charter for ethical reporting on elections at the ceremony, held at the EU InfoCentre, on 12 February. The Charter was prepared by the Council of Media Ethics of Macedonia (CMEM), and its content is based on the most important and universal principles of the profession, contained in the documents and publications of the International Federation of Journalists, the Initiative for Ethical Journalism, the Reuters Foundation, Reporters Without Borders, Article 19, and so on.

The US Ambassador Jess L. Baily and the Head of the EU Delegation Aivo Orav visited the office of the Council of Media Ethics of Macedonia on February 3rd.
