Avoiding discrimination, stereotypes and sensationalistic reporting on children and youths, respecting and affirming their dignity and enabling them to access media for the purpose of expressing their viewpoints.
These are just some of the Recommendations concerning ethical reporting on children and youths that the Council of Media Ethics of Macedonia (CMEM) has drawn up in cooperation with the First Children’s Embassy in the World Megjashi, and in consultation with professional media and journalistic organizations.
Following the traffic accident that took place in the early morning hours in Bulgaria, the Council of Media Ethics of Macedonia appeals to the media to report responsibly, relying only on verified information and relevant sources, and avoiding any speculations regarding the cause of the accident.
